The Great Wolf Lodge!

This past weekend Chris' unit had a marriage and family retreat at this cool hotel called the Great Wolf Lodge. It is a hotel that is geared towards families and kids. There is all kinds of fun stuff to do... an indoor water park, arcade, and nightly story times in the lobby. The best part about this weekend was it was all on the Army's dime. We didn't have to pay for a thing. Food and everything was covered.
We all had a great time. The girls loved every minute. I tired to take as many pictures as I could. I didn't get any while we were at the water park because it was a little too wet for the camera.
So, here are pictures from our weekend!

This is the front of the hotel. Chloe wasn't too thrilled with the giant wolves :)

Here is a picture of the indoor water park. It was pretty good. The girls had a lot of fun. There was a little kid pool that had slides just for them. The water was only 1.5 ft. deep or something like that, so it was never too deep. Ireland even went on the big slides with Daddy and loved it!

This is the clock tower where they had story time. The kids were supposed to come down in their jammies and slippers and watch this anamatronic (sp?) show and then listen to a story. This was one of the things Ireland was really looking forward to!

Ireland insisted on wheeling in the suitcase all by herself. It was pretty classic to watch... she was tripping over her feet and grunting the whole time. But she didn't want any help!

Chloe was so super excited. Right after we got in our room I asked her to show me how excited she was to be there and this is what she did... pretty excited I think!

The girls playing at the arcade... another favorite thing.

For our dinners and breakfasts we got to eat at the hotel buffet. The girls got to help pick their dinners so they thought it was really neat. Ireland asked me to take a picture of her french fry that looked like a face... she obviously thought they were pretty cool.

Chloe enjoying an after dinner cupcake!

This is so random... this bear was outside of a little bakery on the bottom floor. For some reason, it was one of Chloe's favorite things at the hotel. She would ask me if we could go down to see it. And every time we walked by she wanted a picture with it. Funny.

Chloe right before story time. She wouldn't even look at the camera.

Watching the show with Daddy.

Ireland at story time. She said it was, "exactly what she had in mind!" (That is a direct quote)

This was at lunch on Saturday. They were both so excited because after lunch it was time to go swimming... for like 4 hours!

They had airbrush tattoo's there. Ireland wanted one on the first day but she had to wait until the end of Saturday so it wouldn't wash off... she was super excited. Chloe was going to get one too but she chickened out... I guess Ireland is just more hardcore than Chloe.

Ireland's first ink

She looks so tough with her fresh ink!
All in all it was a great weekend. Chris and I had a good time at the marriage classes too... but to be honest, we had more fun watching the girls run around and have so much fun! It was a perfect weekend and we are so thankful we got to go!

Most Random Kids EVER!!

I am sure you have all figured out by now that Ireland has a great imagination! She can create a game out of anything.

Chris cut the top off the top our old dryer box... Ireland immediately turned it into a boat. She got out her life jacket and got one for Chloe too. Then she found the handle that goes to their trike and that was the oar.

They both sat out in the middle of our driveway in the top of a cardboard box... life jackets on pretending they were on the wide open seas. I am not sure why, but the image just struck me as so funny!!

At one point Chloe braved the seas alone... you see, there was a waterfall up ahead and Ireland wasn't brave enough... But after Chloe managed to get through that Ireland "swam" back out and rejoined her.

This picture is my favorite... you can see how into the game they are! I think I might have the most random kids EVER! But we'll keep them I guess!

Fun weekend!

This weekend we had some fun company. Gran and Uncle Danny got to come for the weekend and spend some time with us. Also, my good friend Katie came down for a visit as well. I didn't get many pictures while Gran and Danny were here. They left this morning. But after they left we went up to Mount Scott with Katie and some friends. After a fun time there we headed to a little town called Medicine Park. Its a cute little town right next to a river. We ate lunch and then got to feed the catfish and ducks! The girls loved it!

Chloe didn't want Daddy to put her down. She was a little timid of all the animals. She said something about not liking loud hippos... so maybe she thought there was a hippo out there too... who really knows when it comes to Chloe!!

Ireland loved it and wasn't scared at all!

We found this cool "tree tunnel" as Ireland called it.

Checking out the view with Daddy

Giving Daddy lots of love!

It must have been a long weekend for Chloe... she fell asleep on the way home from lunch. The funny thing is we were in the Jeep! So the wind was blowing all around and it was loud and hot! She just got in and closed her eyes and was asleep so fast! Too funny!!

We had a great time and it was sad to see everyone go home! Thanks for a fun visit!!

Already gone...

Sad news for us... We had to give Piper away already. In a matter of 24 hours she made me one sick momma! I thought I had out grown my dog alleregy. But no such luck.
So we ended up giving her to one of Chris' friends from work that has 2 other dogs.
The girls are doing pretty good with it... I think Chris is the most sad about it. He really loved her... even after one day. I am pretty much feeling like the worst mom and wife ever right now. At least we know she is in a good home. Poor little thing getting passed around...
Anyways, just thought I would give you all an update!

Go Horns!

Here in the Shellaby household we are happy it is football season! We are ready to see what the Longhorns are going to do this season and are expecting great things!
Saturday the girls got to wear their UT shirts... they need more because this is all they have... but they sure do love them!

The girls and Daddy watching Americas Funniest Videos... Ireland use to love watching this show with Papaw. So she as very excited when Daddy turned it on the other day. They all 3 sat just like this for the whole show.

This weekend it was very rainy. It started Friday night and rained until Sunday. In Colorado when it rains it gets cold... in Oklahoma when it rains it stays warm. It was so cool to me. I guess I just never thought about it being any different than what I was raised around. So while it was raining pretty hard, the girls got to run around in it. They loved it. It was so much fun!

Our Labor Day weekend!

We got to go to Kansas and visit Aunt Sissy and the gang for Labor Day weekend. One of the nice things about Chris' job is that anytime there is a 3 day weekend, he gets a 4 day. So it makes it just long enough to go out of town for a short little visit.
Aunt Sissy planned a little birthday party for Silas since we all had to miss his real birthday. So it was fun to go and be a part of that. We got him the cutest Army football jersey. I didn't get any pictures of him in it, but trust me, its super cute!
So, sorry it took forever, but here are pictures from our visit! We had loads of fun!

This first picture is of Silas laying on Papaw's bed and playing with Uncle Chris' phone. He looks like he is just relaxing and having a great time! Too funny!

I didn't take many pictures of the girls this weekend... things just kind of get busy when you have 4 kids running around! But I did get some cute ones of them when they were all taking a bath... they played tea party. It was pretty awesome to watch! They love eachother so much and played great all weekend!

Here are pictures of Silas eating his birthday cake... I guess he didn't really get into it the first time around... but he did great this time! He got really messy and loved every minute of it!

Taking the first bite...

As you can see, he enjoyed it a lot!
We had so much fun while we were there! Thanks Aunt Sissy and gang for a fun time! Can't wait until the next visit!

A whole new kid!!!

Chloe and I have an on going battle... her hair... You see, I HATE when it is in her face... I hate having to comb through it and listen to her cry about the knots... I hate that I put her hair up every morning and she takes it out every nap time (and then I have to do it all over again after nap). Pretty much, her hair was getting on my last nerve.
So the other day when I went to get her after nap time and her hair was a mess once again, I threatened her that I was going to cut it short like Ireland's if she didn't stop taking it out... she came back with a very enthusiastic, "Ok, Mommy!!!!" And she hasn't stopped asking to get a hair cut since... I of course was all for it. The only thing standing in the way of our hair bliss... Daddy. He loves her long hair. He thinks all little girls need long hair... but she eventually wore him down and he gave us the ok...
So, tonight was the big night. I didn't tell anyone I was doing it because I was sure I would get loads of "don't do its" and "she has such beautiful hair!!" But I was at my wits end and could not be happier! Its great!
So, here are the pictures of the big event! I hope you all like!
Before pictures... her hair was up in french braids today and this is what was left of them after nap time...

The after...

I won't part it down the middle when I do it... this is just how it was after I cut it... she LOVES it! She keeps saying things like, "I need to go potty with my new haircut" and "I need to help Ireland pick up because I like my new haircut!" I even caught her in the bathroom checking herself out in the mirror... so that makes it all worth it right there!

Battle Hair is officially over! I am sad to see her pretty hair so short... but so happy to have back the 20 minutes a day I use to spend doing her hair! Maybe I will be able to sit and have an extra cup of coffee every morning! Yeah right!
