Chole's big first's!

well, this past week chloe has had a few firsts... two good and one bad... we will start with the goods and lead into the bad....
Chloe got to eat at the "big" table for the first time this weekend! Ireland has develpoed a new love for sitting in the "grown-up" chairs and not her booster seat anymore. and she is big enough now that she can reach the table without having to use it. so since it wasn't being used we thought Chloe might like to sit at the table with all of us instead of her highchair... and we were right! she loves it! she would much rather sit with all of us! so now we eat family all together at one big table! and it is a lot of fun!

the other big first is she ate dinner monday night with a fork! i have given her forks and spoons in the past... she just has never been sucsessful with either of them. but monday we were having pancakes and sausage and she did fantastic! she was so proud of herself and showed off for the camera nicely!
ok... now for the bad.... somehow Chloe got a hold of a blue marker. and by the looks of things, blue markers taste a lot like chocolate... because she couldn't keep it out of her mouth! It was saturday morning. chris and i were paying bills. he was in the bedroom and i was in the kitchen... so we had the baby gates open and the girls were able to play in their room if they wanted... well, i guess Chloe had a grand ol' time and she found this marker and just came walking into the kitchen blue as can be... luckily i am at least half way smart... and even though i leave markers laying around they are washable! so it all came right off! but this was the first time Chloe got into something she wasn't supposed to... we didn't have to deal with Ireland doing that until she was over 2 (read the lotion blog). but i guess Chloe wanted a head start! too funny!

here are some pictures of Ireland on any given morning when we don't have places to go... she has taken to dressing up in whatever she can find... i think you can tell she has on her pj top, cinderella swimming suit, and chloe's swimming suit. the outfit later grew to all of the above plus a pair of chloe's shorts, another pj top, and a "helmet" (which is a winter hat). never too boring around here!

fun times with the fam!

this weekend was so much fun! and so busy! as i had mentioned before, chris and I got to go to a ball on friday night. it was lots of fun... it kind of reminded me of a wedding reception... but all the guys were dressed the same. but it was fun to have a night out with my husband. anyone with kids knows that doesn't always happen! one of my favorite part of the nights was when they led us in some toasts... to the president, the army, so on and so forth. then they told the guys to seat their dates and then they made a toast to the ladies. i thought that was pretty cute! i did however miss my sister and mom a lot while i was getting ready... it is hard to get dressed up without some support (girls, you know what i am talking about).
Ireland and Chloe did great for Gramma Sherry, Gran, and Uncle Danny. but are we surprised?! they got to go out to dinner at a buffet... which means Chloe was in heaven! i heard she ate about a whole patch of strawberries!
so all in all it was a good night!

then on Saturday we all went to a little town just north of us called Medicine Park. it is just a little historical town with pretty scenery to look at. we went up there and took lots of picutres! the girls were great and we got lots of great pictures! then we went to the wildlife refuge and took some more pictures. it turned out to be a really nice day and we got to spend lots of time outside enjoying the fresh air!

we had lots of fun with all our house guests! unfortunatly Aunt Shawna couldn't come because of school... we missed her lots and expect to see her soon anyways (whenever she wants to visit us next!!!). But Uncle Danny came back and it is always good to see him!

the visit with Gramma Sherry was very special and we are soooo glad she could spend some time with us! the girls love having her here and Ireland is still talking about it!
and it is always so special to see Gran! it is so great that the girls can be so close to their great gran! they love her very much and enjoy her visits a lot!
we are now getting back into normal life again... which is always bitter sweet. tomorrow we have plans to go swimming so hopefully i will get some pics from that fun time soon!
we love and miss you all!!!!
