Finally looking like fall!

Being the Colorado girl I am, it is hard for me to get use to the Oklahoma seasons! In Colorado at this time of year all the leaves are off the trees... its snowed a few times... it looks like full on fall and sometimes even winter. Here? Not so much. A lot of the trees are just starting to change colors and the leaves are just starting to really fall... and the temperature... that is a whole other story. We still have days in the 80's!
So on Wednesday when the weather was cool and it looked like fall outside, we decided to go on a nature walk. The girls and I went and found some pretty leaves and other fall things (sticks and rocks... I guess to a 4 and 3 year old those are "fall" things).
They loved walking around and finding all the cool leaves. The one thing I do like about fall in Oklahoma is there is a lot of red in the trees. In Colorado it is mostly yellows, browns, and oranges. But here, a lot of red and it is wonderful and pretty!

They each got a bag to fill with fall things that we were going to later use for a craft project.

Ireland was very particular in the things she picked up and put in her bag. Chloe... she just grabbed hand fulls of whatever she thought looked ok. Chloe's bag was full in about 5 minutes.

I had to tell Ireland to hurry up or she wasn't going to have anything in her bag to use for the craft. It just cracks me up how different they are!

We of course had to take a few cute pictures!

When we got home we used the leaves to make leaf drawings. Ireland and Chloe picked out all the fall colors from the crayon box and I showed them that when you put a leaf under your paper and color over it you see the leaf.

They both thought it was pretty neat. I was surprised that Chloe was actually having fun with it.

Both the pictures turned out pretty cool!

After the imprint drawings we picked out our favorite leaves and put them on some wax paper.

You can see the concentration on her face! She had to get her leaves just right before I ironed them to make a cool leaf picture.

They both had a lot of fun! I was happy to get out and do something in the cool weather and I was very happy the girls enjoyed the craft!

Most of you know Ireland will be turning 5 on Tuesday. Well, Maren sent her a present in the mail and it got here yesterday. Maren told Ireland she could open her gift when it got to the house...You could tell Ireland was crazy excited about getting to open a present BEFORE her bday! Just like her Mommy! :)

When she caught the first glimpse of what it was (a Slivermist doll the size of a Barbie) she literally gasped! She was happy to say the very, very least!

Here she is saying, "This is the coolest thing EVER!" She has played with it nonstop since she opened it last night!
She told me to tell Marna, "You picked out the best fairy doll I have ever seen!!"

Ending with 2 cute pics of the girls!
Next blog will probably be a birthday blog! Auntie Sissy and the kids are coming to celebrate with us! We are super happy they are coming! I can't believe Ireland is going to be 5!!!! Stay tuned!

At least Ireland received one present early because she will receive at least one late. Nana and Papaw's will be late since it is in the mail now! What losers!! Happy Birthday Ireland!!!
