Valentines Day

I hope you all had a great Valentines day! I know we sure did!!! :) We were so blessed this year to have Chris home with us. Last year Valentines Day was a lot different!
We didn't do too much for the holiday. Chris and I got the girls each a little gift and then we went to lunch at Panera... one of the girls favorite places!
Chris made me some yummy dinner after the girls went to bed and we had a nice time enjoying a quiet meal together!
So here are the pictures of the day!
The girls were so excited to open their presents... but they had to wait for Daddy to wake up. They were so antsy for him to get up!
They were soooooo excited!
They were really into the opening! They got some chap stick, dress up shoes, bubbles, and some tootats (as Chloe calls them... but really tattoos). They loved their gifts.
Pretty cool shoes!
The weather was so nice yesterday! The sun was out and it ended up getting into the 60's... actually, I think it was 59... but that is close enough in my book!
So naturally, we took some time to go to the park!
All in all it was a great day... this was how the sky looked at the end of the night... even the sky was filled with LOVE!!!
God is so good and I am so blessed!

A little bit of everything!

So, this blog has a little bit of everything in it... We haven't been up to much so nothing too exciting, but here is a blog none the less!
Chris has been getting a lot of questions from family about what he actually does for his job. So the other day he had to go to the field and he took a picture of his truck. He wanted me to post the pic on here so you all can see it and kind of get an idea for what he does.
His job is a little different here at Fort Lewis than it was at Fort Sill. The trucks here are wheeled vehicle and the ones at Fort Sill were tracks. As far as I can tell, pretty much the same basic idea... they still shoot rockets or what-have-yous.
He has had a lot more time with the trucks here... which he really likes. He never really got to do much with them in Oklahoma. He is actually in the field for 3 days right now. So I think its safe he is getting along pretty well here!
Oh, the truck is called a HiMAR... standing for something... but it has escaped me at the moment! :)
Now to the fun... I mean, not Army stuff...
The other day we did a little Valentines Day craft. It was a lot of fun... and a lot of a mess! For some reason I thought glitter was a good idea. I had a momentary lapse of sanity obviously!
The girls really enjoyed it and Chloe ONLY used the glitter! So I guess it was worth it!
This day we were going to make our craft and then head to the commissary... it ended taking 3 hours... thats right... 3 HOURS to finish the craft. Needless to say, it took up the whole morning!
Craft time went really well. And if I stay on top of things (hoping and praying) some of you might see some of those precious hearts in your mailbox!
You can tell by the aftermath on the table how much fun they had!
The rest of the pictures are just a few random ones of some new additions to our house and wardrobe...
Chloe saw these shoes at Old Navy and it was love at first site... she couldn't take her eyes off them. They are not practical and maybe a little bit to much money... but the best shoes always are. Am I right?! She hasn't taken them off since we got them... she wore them out of the store and even napped in them!

This is just Ireland being Ireland... she says this is her pretty face. I say her face is her pretty face!
We had a Super Bowl on Sunday and Chris told be I could get a few things to make the house come together... YEA for shopping!
I went to Ross and Marshals. Great deals! I also went to Target (duh) and found some cute stuff.
This basket... Ross, $10!
I got the filler stuff for this vase at Target. The rocks were $3 and I got the balls for $5 because the box had been opened and one of the balls was squished. Great deal!
Then I harnessed my inner Hildi (Trading Spaces anyone) and got some silk Gerber Daisies from Michaels and cut the stems off, used scrapbooking 3-D picture mounting dots and made the girls some wall art!
It made their room nice and bright and it was only about $15!
The last things I got were for the downstairs bathroom. I got these cute little buttlerflies and some knock off (waiting until I can afford the real stuff) UpperCase Living... I think they make the bathroom so cute! Chris hates it. He wanted that bathroom to be a "snowboarding bathroom" just like Maren's surfing bathroom... um... its not! :)
So, that is it. Kind of random blog and I don't know if you even care about my new decorating! But it just made the house seem so much more homey I had to share! Thanks for listening! :)

Space Needle!

I know I said I would post this blog sooner... I just really didn't want to. So, I didn't do it until today! Ha, so there! :)
But here they are... pictures of our trip to the Space Needle... not as cool as I thought it was going to be... I was actually a little disappointed. But now we can say we did it. The girls liked it, so I guess that is a plus!
These are pictures from the parking lot. Ireland is standing on the hood of the van. This is one of the highlights of her trip to the Space Needle!
We tried to get a picture of Daddy, Chloe, and Ireland... but this was the best we got!
Here are some of the views. I think I would have been more impressed if it wasn't so cloudy. I think that made the views not so great. But it was kind of cool... just not $39.00 (after military discount) worth of cool!
Again, trying to get a picture... Chloe had kind of hit a wall at this point of the day. We skipped nap and she got pretty tired by the end of it all! She was not interested in picture taking!
This last picture makes me laugh! Chloe looked like this for most of the drive home... kind of catatonic. She never did fall asleep, but she didn't make any noise either! On the way home we found Chipotle (!!!!!!) and had some yummy dinner. Chloe ate an entire container of guac by herself... Ireland had to be forced to eat a chicken taco... good times! It was a great end to a great day!

Coolest day ever!

Yesterday we spent the day in Seattle. We decided to head to the biggest REI ever! It literally is! The biggest one! It has a really huge rock wall and Chris told Ireland that she could climb it. So we took our Sunday afternoon and went to check it out!
The way the girls act you would think REI is an amusement park! They get really excited to go... they like looking at things like waterbottles, shoes, and hats!
This store is really cool. While you are there you totally forget you are in the middle of a city. There is a beautiful waterfall, hiking trail, and and outdoor mountain bike test trail.
Chloe tried out her own bike... she did pretty good balancing.
On the top floor there is a compass in the floor that is clear, so you can see the floor under it. Chloe was totally interested in it! At first she didn't want to go in the middle of it...
But she kept getting a little more brave with every passing second...
Until eventually she made it to the middle!
People that were walking by stopped to watch her! It was a pretty funny thing to see! By the time she made it to the middle there were about 3 other people watching her and needless to say, she hammed it up for everyone!
Ta-Da!!!!!
The main event of the day was Ireland climbing the rock wall... it is HUGE! But she really wanted to give it a shot.
The lady that was helping us, Julia, was super nice. She talked to Ireland like she was an adult (Ireland LOVED it). Julia let Ireland fill out her own paper work... She got to write her own name, initial it, and sign it! It was the cutest thing ever!
She was proud of her "signature"
She got to wear special climbing shoes...
Getting all strapped up!
Here she is in action! She did so good! She didn't go very high, but for the first time it was amazing! She didn't get negative or dramatic about it. She just tired her hardest and stayed positive the whole time! I was so proud of her!
This is the highest point she got to... not too shabby!
Here she is going down. Great form!
We had such a fun day at REI! It was a great way to spend an afternoon.
After REI we went to the Space Needle... I will post a blog about that later today (or tomorrow)!
