Fun times at the Zoo!!

We got to go to the Zoo again this week! It is so great having a zoo membership! We are going to be there a lot this summer so expect lots of Zoo pictures! :)
Here is a little background to explain the first 2 pictures... The last time we went to the zoo Chloe got a little scared by the hippos. We were in the inside area looking at the hippos and there was one under water that we didn't see... well, I had Chloe in the stroller pushed right up to the railing and the hippo came out from under water and surprised us all! It made a snorting noise when it came out and it scared Chloe to DEATH!!! She screamed and cried and was litterally shaking by the time I got her outside.... poor thing! So, needless to say she was a little nervous to go to the zoo again. I didn't know how timid she was going to be until we got there... and she was almost in tears every time we got close to an animal! So the first 2 picture show the progression of how Chloe experienced the zoo this time around! hopefully the next time she will warm up a bit faster! :)

Chloe put her woobie on her head over her face and then put her hat on her head! I swear I didn't set up this picture! She really did it herself! And she stayed this way for a while. She would lift up her woobie and take a peek every once in a while... but it took a good 30 minutes before the woobie was off her face!
This was the next step for her... still with the woobie on her head but not over her face! She would just pull her hat down if there was something that scared her! She slowly warmed up to the zoo after a while! Poor thing! I felt so bad for her!! :( Needless to say we stayed away from the hippos this time!

We got to go to the zoo with Maren and EmJ! We loved having them with us!! Here is a picture of EmJ looking at the polar bear height thing... she looks so little and cute!

Ireland enjoyed every part of the zoo! She wasn't scared of anything! She got to ride the zebra this time around and loved it just as much as she loved riding the polar bear last time! :)

Ha! This is Ireland "talking" to the wolves! She was howling and I think she face is pretty funny!

Ireland, Chloe, and Nana at the polar bear! Ireland thought this was pretty cool! Chloe was scared and wouldn't let go of Nana! Weird!

I LoVe this picture!!!! It shows how much she really loved the ride! She smiled like this all the way to the end!
And this shows how much Chloe didn't like it! Ha... she was too scared to sit by herself... but she kind of warmed up to it toward the end! She did have fun... just wouldn't let go of Nana's neck!

EmJ liked the ride! She wasn't scared at all! I guess she needs to have a little talk with Chloe and tell her there is nothing to be scared of! Hopefully Chloe will get use to it by the end of the summer!

Other than Chloe being scared, we had lots of fun at the zoo! It is so great to be able to go and have fun with our friends and family!

For those of you who don't know already, Chris signed a new contract with the Army and he has 3 more years left! We are all excited about it and looking forward to serving our country for at least 3 more years! We couldn't be more proud of him! He is such a great soldier... but above all else, he is a great daddy and husband and we are such a blessed family! Remember to keep him and all the deployed soldiers in your prayers!

Love this story. Its the best story that I've heard in a very long time. Poor Chloe, you better bring her here to Texas. Tell her we don't have any HIPPOS Love the pic of Ireland too. They are both too cute.

I love the story of Chloe and the hippo. Someday, you will have to write a book. You know that is our life goal as a family. She will have her own chapter, right after Ireland's. Tell Chris we are so very proud of him. There is no greater sacrifice than what he is doing. And you are a wonderful military wife. Couples like you are what make me think this country will be all right. Love you. I hope to see you in July. And if we need to help, just let us know.
